Marketing the Markets
27th April 2009
Locally grown Hampshire produce is about to receive a massive marketing boost, thanks to a tie-up between two county companies.
Hampshire Farmers Markets has chosen to work with Alresford-based Footprint Communications to help them celebrate their 10th anniversary year. The award winning PR and Marketing Consultancy will be taking Hampshire Farmers Markets into its next decade, looking to further increase consumer interest in a more traditional shopping experience.
Hampshire Farmers Markets are the leading Farmers Markets in the UK, selling locally grown produce at market venues throughout the county of Hampshire. To mark the anniversary year, Hampshire Farmers Markets will be embarking on an ambitious marketing drive to ensure they remain a number one attraction in the South of England.
Footprint Communications will be working to ensure that the Hampshire Farmers Markets brand identity is relevant and appealing to a diverse consumer base, with the ultimate aim of tempting more consumers to the Hampshire Farmers Markets experience – getting people closer to local, fresh food and those who make it. They will be highlighting the Farmers Markets experience, food quality and high standards that set the organisation apart from their competitors. A major part of the work will centre on the way the markets ensure the actual producers sell the food they make, therefore making it an educational experience too.
Footprint Communications were chosen for their creative and practical approach, said Alex Handford, Manager, Hampshire Farmers’ Markets: “The team at Footprint showed a thorough understanding of our organisation and what we needed to do to move forward at this exciting time. Already, their solutions have helped to make a real difference to how we think about promoting the markets, and we can’t wait to implement some excellent ideas in the near future”.
Footprint Communications has already worked with many local businesses, helping to support Hampshire-based products and services. Director Vanessa Gardner is also a ‘Hampshire Ambassador’, further emphasising the organisations commitment to promoting the county.
